Hidden away in a magnificent valley adjacent to the Wicklow Mountains National Park, surrounded by unspoilt mountain, moorland and forest scenery, Kippure Estate is perfectly sited for walkers. You can choose to create your own, self-guided walking break, or take advantage of our experienced guides who can lead you safely and expertly through this natural wonderland.

Independent Hillwalking
Enjoy the breathtaking landscape and incredible natural diversity of Wicklow at your own pace, tailoring your walks to centre on the sights and routes which appeal the most to you.  Whether you are part of a walking group or just exploring the area with friends or a loved one, then a self-guided walking break will allow you complete freedom and flexibility to discover this enchanting area at leisure.

In spite of its numerous attractions, Wicklow remains something of a secret gem, and you can explore the rugged peaks and magical landscape for hours, without encountering another soul, sometimes making it feel like you have the place to yourself.
Independent walking does not, however, mean that you need to feel totally alone - the experienced and knowledgeable staff at Kippure Estate will be more than happy to help you choose the walking routes most suited to your group's interests, experience or fitness level.

Guided Hillwalking
Let our excellent guides do the hard work for you! With a competent leader on your side, you can leave the maps, compass and GPS behind, and simply focus on enjoying the beauty of the landscape. What’s more, you can fully relax, knowing that you are in very safe hands.

All our leaders are Irish Mountain Training Board (BOS) approved and hold a valid first aid certificate. They are experienced and knowledgeable, approachable and sensitive – and most importantly, they have a genuine passion for nature, the great outdoors and Wicklow.

Your hillwalking experience will be tailored to your requirements. Whether it’s lofty summits with incredible views you crave, or wooded valleys replete with wildlife, your guide can create your perfect day out.

Guided hillwalking holidays are particularly recommended for clubs and educational trips, but anyone can take advantage of the benefits of being led by an expert guide. 
All you need to bring along are a pair of sturdy boots, waterproof clothing, refreshments, camera – and a smile!
