KIPPURE FIELD STUDIES

About Us

Situated in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains in the beautiful Upper Liffey valley, Kippure Estate a mere 45 minutes from the city centre & readily accessible from the M50, N11 & N81.

Surrounded by Wicklow Mountains National Park a huge diversity of habitats are located within the 280-acre estate.  All of which are readily and safely accessible.

An extensive Woodland habitat comprising of mature native Oakland, native Scots Pine in the form of the famous Coronation Plantation as well as commercial and native regenerating woodland (oak & beech).

The river Liffey in its youthful stage flows through the estate forming typical granite landscape. The Liffey along with three of its tributaries, the Cransillagh, Srahoe & Athdown Brooks provides us with a rich Freshwater habitat.

The estate is also home to internationally important blanket & raised bog, along with heath and upland grassland.

Throughout Kippure Estate there is evidence of our glaciated past such as the Athdown Moraine, and many erratics.
