About Kippure’s Eco-Adventure Days

Our Eco Adventure Days are ideal for Primary and other Youth groups. They are based around a 5-hour programme. In order to maximise the experience the day is divided into two, Nature Awareness Activities and Adventure Activities:

1. The Nature Awareness Activities are based on Joseph Cornell’s approach and offer children an experience where they begin to make a personal connection to the natural world through playful investigation.  Joseph Cornell is one of the world’s most highly respected nature educators and author of the highly acclaimed books ‘Sharing Nature with Children’, ‘Sharing the Joy of Nature’, ‘Listening to Nature’, ‘Journey to the Heart of Nature’ and ‘With Beauty before Me’.   The Cornell approach will get pupils to smell, touch, see and listen to aspects of the natural world.  Your pupils will love it!   All activities are fun and interactive, they include Nature Orienteering, Scavenger Hunt, and Nature Games such as “Build a Tree” and “Create your own Cocktail”!
   
   
2. Adventure Activities - Learning through Adventure!
   The classroom is not always the ideal environment to learn life skills, which are essential to the rounded development of their pupils.  Our Outdoor Adventure Centre provides an ideal learning environment.
   
   Our activities include: Climbing & Abseiling, Vertical Challenge, & Low Ropes. All these activities are perfect for developing teamwork, communication and trust skills.
